Essar Refinery Complex - Jamnagar

Essar's Oil Ltd. has its flagship refinery in Jamnagar, Essar's refinery is located at Vadinar in Jamnagar.

Essar refinery is a world class producing 14-million tonne refinery produces. Refinery is equipped with latest fuel compliance equipments and can comply to latest international emission standards. This refinery is capable of handling various types of crudes and hence increasing the overall refining capacity in the region. Major produced of the refinery includes Aviation Turbine Fuel, kerosene oil and high-speed diesel, byproducts includes LPG and transport fuels, these fuels are in compliance with Euro III and Euro IV product quality standards. Refinery is equpped with latest environment friendly technologies for pollution management.

This refinery is being progressively expanded to 20 million tonnes (405,000 bpsd).  By Sep 2012 this target will be achieved. After the expansion refinery will achieve a Nelson Complexity of 12.8 with a capability of processing tougher crudes and producing petroleum products of very high quality. This indicator will be in comliance with Euro V standards. Essar Vadinar refinery is fully integrated with a CPP (captive power plant) of 500 MW capacity, post expansion this capacity will be more then doubled to 1,200 MW, port handling capacity is tremedous and equipped with Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems. Port also has vessels handlind capacity up to 350,000 dead weight tonnage with a marine product dispatch capacity of 14 million tonnes.  Located at Vadinar,  is a famous port; Vadinar is an all-weather, deep-draft natural port, it contributes to almost 75 percent of India's crude imports.

A greenbelt spanning over 700-acre is also created and maintained for a greener place around the entire complex.

  • Naphtha Hydro Treater: Current potential capacity of 1.67 million tonnes
  • Dedicated infrastructure includes a captive power plant (currently 500 MW, being expanded to 1,200 MW), dispatch facilities by rail, road, sea and pipeline, associated tankages, pipelines, water intake facilities, and a Single Buoy Mooring system, which can accommodate Very Large Crude Carriers, to receive crude.
